About

Herman Aguinis is the Avram Tucker Distinguished Scholar and Professor of Management at The George Washington University School of Business, where he was also Chair of the Department of Management and Director of the Master of Human Resources Management Program. His interdisciplinary research focuses on behavioral and policy issues regarding the global acquisition and deployment of talent in organizations and research methods, technology, and analytics (i.e., behavioral science and data science). Every year since 2018, for the 9th consecutive year, Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers Reports has ranked him among the world’s 100 most impactful researchers in Economics and Business, he served as President of the Academy of Management, and has been inducted into The PhD Project Hall of Fame. Before joining GWU, he was the John F. Mee Chair of Management and the Founding and Managing Director of the Institute for Global Organizational Effectiveness at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. Also, he has held appointments at universities in China, Malaysia, Singapore, Argentina, France, Spain, Puerto Rico, Australia, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. He has published 13 books and about 240 articles in refereed journals. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Management, American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Association for Psychological Science, and is past editor-in-chief of Organizational Research Methods. He received Distinguished Career Awards for lifetime scholarly contributions from four different Academy of Management Divisions (e.g., (a) Organizational Behavior, (b) Human Resources Management, and (c) Research Methods); the Losey Award by the Society for Human Resource Management Foundation for lifetime achievement in human resource research; SIOP Scientific Contributions Award for lifetime contributions; AOM Career Award for Service Contributions demonstrating lifetime excellence in helping to build institutions through creative or unusually effective service; AOM Practice Theme Committee Scholar Practice Impact Award recognizing outstanding impact on policy making and managerial and organizational practices; and AOM Entrepreneurship Division IDEA Thought Leader Award.
