Find real bugs in real packages

We audited actual open-source packages and reported (responsibly) two vulnerabilities as a class. He's clearly passionate and the guest lectures from maintainers were memorable.

Solid, demanding, well run

Data structures with 300 people is hard to run, but the course is very well organized — autograder, weekly quizzes, a big TA team. Problem sets are long. His lectures on hashing were excellent.
